We lucked out this year because not only were they both participating in the Jog-a-Thon, they were running at the same time, which meant only one trip up to the school. Micah was running on the smaller track and Maddie was running on the big track so we had to go back and forth between them, but it was nice to get it over with all at once.
Maddie started a few minutes before Micah. Here are some pictures of her:
At the starting line
Go Maddie go
Still running hard
Maddie with her softball friends that are in her class
Miss Anderson and her Third Graders
About 5 minutes after Maddie started, the Pre-K kids came out so we headed out to see Micah. He surprised me - he is usually very un-interested in physical activities so I didn't expect that he would actually jog or get very into it. He seemed to enjoy himself though and jogged the whole time.
He's coming around the corner
Still running
Go Micah!
The best attempt at a class picture
After the Jog-a-Thon was done, the kids line up and get a popsicle and bottle of water. Maddie isn't a fan of popsicles but Micah was all over it! I was glad his ice-pop was orange so that if he made a big mess, it won't stain his class t-shirt :)
I think that both of them enjoyed the morning, but it makes me a little sad to think that next year, Maddie will be next door in the intermediate building and there will be no more Jog-a-Thons for her. Can't believe she's already a 3rd grader.
