Grandparents Week

This week was Grandparents Week at the school.  This means that each day a different grade gets to bring their grandparents to breakfast and then back to their classroom for a little while.  Maddie is a pro at grandparents day because she has done it every year since Pre-K.  This was Micah's first year though and he was very excited.  Grandparents Week was a hit with both of them!

S-C-O-R-E

I'm very happy to report that after several weeks of basketball, Maddie has finally scored her first basket!  She actually ended up scoring 2 which made her a very happy girl.

The game was right in the middle of nap time so the boys stayed home while I took Maddie to the basketball game.  Since I knew that she was due for a basket, I had the video camera on my phone ready to go and I was able to catch the first basket on video so Daddy could see it.  Here it is:

She was getting a little discouraged because she was the only player on her team that had yet to make a basket.  Early in the season, we missed a game and it was a game where we totally dominated and Coach Scott was able to ensure that each girl got a basket.  But since Maddie missed that game, she didn't get to score.  No worries though, she has now made 2 baskets and she is delighted with herself.

Tickle Time Funny

Any evening that we are at home, the kids (mostly Maddie) start begging Mark for "tickle time".  Apparently what tickle time consists of is Mark on the floor tickling, wrestling, taunting, piggyback riding and whatever else he can do to play with the kids.  Tickle time is EXTREMELY loud and usually ends up with somebody crying.  However, you can be sure that the next night, they will be begging for it all over again.  Even Mason will sneak up to Daddy and say "Get you" . . .  which means he wants Mark to get HIM.

So the piggyback ride is one of the most sought after elements of tickle time, but Mark hates doing that one because it is just uncomfortable for him.  Usually all 3 kids will pile on all at once and his back feels like it could break.  One night, Maddie asked Daddy if she could have a "private" piggy back ride.  It was kind of funny, so he obliged.  Once she got up on his back though, he started bouncing up and down instead of moving forward.  She giggled and appeared to be loving it, but then abruptly said "Daddy, stop, I'm getting horse sick!".  It was such a funny moment that we don't get very often with Maddie anymore - she is almost too grown up to say the cute stuff these days!
